Service/NMCN Reviews
National Services Division is committed to reviewing all national services on a rolling programme and producing reports to the National Services Advisory Group (NSAG) to allow them to review the continuing requirement for national funding in each service area.
There are three types of service review:
- A Regular Review which maps out projected trends in the service over the next 5 years in the form of a forward 5 year plan, and takes stock of the service as currently being delivered against the criteria for continuing as a national service;
- A Major Policy Review of the service which includes a needs assessment, a literature review exploring best national and international practice, examination of the current model of service delivery, patient and public involvement and consideration of evidence and options by and expert panel;
- A Managed Clinical Network Review which will review the achievements of the network against their original aims, their quality assurance framework, the benefit that has been added to patient care and value for money.
