Scottish Paediatric Renal Urology Network

The Scottish Paediatric Renal and Urology Network was designated in 2004 as a national network.  Since this time it has aimed to improve the outcomes of children and young people with renal and urological disease which requires the input of specialist services but can also be managed locally.

In the past year the network has initiated a benchmarking questionnaire for Nephrotic Syndrome based on relevant guidelines and will assess what services identified in the guidelines are available.  The Network has also continued to involve patients and their families, holding regular family group meetings to help educate and support family members and patients alike.  The Network has continued to hold and has recently evaluated the quarterly teleconferencing case discussion service which has allowed local clinicians to access specialist professionals contributing to the management of patients within their local community.
